Anne King
Pen ink, paints and watercolours
Anne lives and works in the Dandenong Ranges, with its beautiful tree fern gullies and forested hillsides.
These sketches are done on the side of one of these gullies, with love and affection, in the fresh air
and sunshine. They are then taken back to the studio, where more elaborate pieces are worked
up in inks. Poetic licence is taken with the colours, but the shapes and & 'feel' of the forest is kept.
The studies of people come from her love of the human form, and a delight in telling a story in pen
and ink, paints and watercolours. Sketches and photographs of her everyday life are made with
an artists eye, and used to develop paintings in the studio. Her love of the human form is
underpinned by a constant discipline of life drawing, which she pursues with a passion.
