Watercolour & wax pastels
Hannah is an Emerald based emerging Visual Artist. She was introduced to watercolours at high school and it’s been her medium of choice for around eight years. Initially drawn to its subtlety and transparent quality, Hannah loves the vulnerability of the medium (there’s no way to cover over mistakes). However, since graduating from university in 2018 she has been encouraged to explore a wider range of media. These works are a result of that experimentation. Watercolours act as the ground or foundation for each piece. They are then layered with wax pastels to add vibrancy and depth. Hannah’s work is often inspired by what she sees while walking and adventuring with friends or the family dog. She loves living in the Dandenong Ranges because of the abundance of parklands, walking tracks and treed laneways which provide her with endless inspiration.
